Volunteers Make A Difference (VMAD)
The Centre for Volunteering works with disadvantaged or at-risk young people to engage them in positive volunteer experiences. VMAD takes a holistic approach to the vocational education of young people; it focuses on educating young people about volunteering and encouraging a connection to the local communities.
Project Aims
- To engage disadvantaged or at-risk young people in positive volunteering opportunities and experiences.
- To identify and build the capacity of volunteering organisations to provide a range of volunteering opportunities, training and support to young people who could benefit from volunteering in a positive and supported environment.
Volunteer Workshops
The Centre runs small workshops for young people to help them identify their passions, skills and interests and how this can translate to a meaningful volunteer experience. This workshop engages young people with the concept of volunteering in a way that is relevant, targeted and inspiring.
